With the release of v1.1 of the app, Senstream provides the Local Files Browser view that allows users to save all ring data locally to the device or to a location defined by the user using options provided by Apple's iOS operating system.
The iOS file browser presents three basic tabs:
Recent tab contains the most recently accessed session files. If no session file is available, such as the first time using the local file browser, a prompt to create a session will be presented.
The sharing tab consists of session files that have been shared and accepted between two or more people using iCloud functionality.
With the iOS device set up to send Senstream files to iCloud for backup, after a session is completed the session file automatically syncs to iCloud.
Press and hold a session file to see the actions menu. Select Share
Ensure the option to share is set to “Collaborate” and select a method to share the file with another person using iCloud.
If the sharing method selected is iOS native, such as iMessage or Apple Mail, it will automatically embed a link into the message.
If the sharing method is a non-iOS application (Slack, Outlook, etc), there is an extra step to create a link by defining the recipients. The following step will show the generated link inserted into the selected 3rd party application.
Select “Manage Shared File” from the context menu. This will open available controls for managing the iCloud hosted file.
When sharing an iCloud hosted file, selecting “Share copy” will make a copy of the file and place it as an attachment to whatever sharing method is chosen.
Please note that session files sent as unmanaged attachments will not be tracked here in the Share tab.
The browse allows for navigating the file and services directory of the iOS device. Here you can choose where to save your session data files.
Senstream Folder
On installation of the app a Senstream folder is created on your device in the Files app to store your session files. This is the default location.
On your device
iOS allows you to move upward in the directory and choose to save files in a different location on your device than the Senstream folder. Simply navigate to a location and choose to start a session. That session’s data will be saved to this location on your device.
3rd party cloud services
iOS allows for the integration of its own storage service (iCloud) and 3rd party storage services, like Google Drive, Box, and others. If you move to the top of the Files directory structure you will see all available services that you have enabled.
PLEASE NOTE: Not all services will accept saving Senstream session files to them. You will be able to browse into a service, like Google Drive and OneDrive, but if you attempt to start a session from that location it will result in an error.
iOS local file manager allows for the connection to servers available on the network.
To access the cloud based solution Senstream Cloud, the gear icon in the upper right corner allows the app to switch to that view.
